Brazilian judiciary experts discuss environmental reparations and career restructuring

On June 25, the Escola Nacional de Formação e Aperfeiçoamento de Magistrados released two new episodes of the Fala Enfam podcast. One episode featured Supreme Court minister Paulo Sérgio Domingues, who highlighted the need for better governance of structural litigation and described recent advances in quantifying environmental damages, referencing CNJ recommendations and methods such as carbon‑credit calculations. Two days earlier, jurist Lenio Streck presented a comprehensive legal study to a Sitraemg livestream, arguing that the career structure of the Union's Federal Judiciary (PJU) requires reform. The study examined the positions of analyst and technician, called for updates to Law 11.416/2006 to address vague legislative language, emphasized that artificial intelligence cannot replace these careers, and outlined constraints imposed by Supreme Court jurisprudence.
