Brazilian judokas selected for Pan-American competitions
Brazilian judokas are gaining prominence in national and international competitions. Marcela Vitória, representing São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo, has been called up to represent Brazil at the Pan-American Championship in Cancún, Mexico, scheduled for November. Her selection follows a bronze medal performance at the Brazilian Judo Championship in Aracaju.
In the junior category, athletes from Rio Grande do Norte are also advancing. Rebeca Evangelista and Alice Rocha competed in the Brazilian Junior Championship in Florianópolis, while Yasmim Lima, a prominent figure with multiple national titles, is set to join the Brazilian national team for the Junior Pan-American Cup in El Salvador.
Coordinators note that while regional athletes are performing well, there is a significant concentration of investment and professionalization in clubs located in the South and Southeast regions of Brazil.
