Binho Galinha sentenced to 36 years in prison

The Bahia state court sentenced deputy Kléber Cristian Escolano de Almeida, known as Binho Galinha, to 36 years and nine months in prison for multiple firearms offenses uncovered in Operation El Patrón. Four co‑defendants – his wife Mayana Cerqueira da Silva, Thierre Figueredo Silva and police officers Jackson Macedo Araújo Júnior and Roge de Jesus Carvalho – received sentences ranging from three and a half to seven years. Investigators said the group stored large arsenals of legal and restricted weapons in several properties, altered serial numbers and allowed an adolescent to access a firearm. The defense argued the charges stem from administrative irregularities related to the deputy’s collector‑shooter‑hunter registration and pledged to appeal the decision to the Bahia Court of Justice and higher courts, asserting the deputy remains in office and retains his political rights while the case is under appeal.
