Brazilian lawyers arrested for leaking judicial data to crime gang PCC

Two lawyers, Jonatas Alves Moraes and Guilherme Gibertoni Anselmo, were arrested in São Paulo’s Operation Backdoor after investigators determined they accessed judicial and public‑prosecutor systems with stolen credentials – including a password used from Portugal – and supplied confidential case information to members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). The illicit data helped gang members evade legal measures. Arrests occurred in Jaboticabal and Taquaritinga.

In a separate inquiry, São Paulo’s Civil Police Corregedoria opened a secret investigation into hacker Patrick Brito, now listed on Interpol’s red notice and residing in Serbia. Brito is alleged to have traded information with police officers, claiming he was recruited to hack devices of investigated individuals and political figures, including former governor Márcio França, in exchange for benefits. Authorities are examining his alleged involvement in a broader espionage scheme and possible coercion of police officials.
