AI adopted by 59% of Brazil’s federal and state agencies

A new government‑technology study finds that artificial intelligence is present in 59% of Brazil’s federal and state public agencies. The judiciary leads adoption, with 94% of its bodies using AI, followed by the public prosecutor’s office (92%), the legislature (83%) and the executive (55%).

Usage is higher at the federal level (70%) than at the state level (58%). The most common applications are workflow automation (39% of agencies), text‑mining and language analysis (35%), and predictive machine‑learning tools (31%). For the first time the survey mapped municipal use, showing that 27% of cities have implemented AI, with adoption ranging from 85% in cities over 500,000 residents to 22% in towns under 10,000.

Other advanced technologies lag behind: the Internet of Things appears in 20% of federal and 29% of state bodies, while blockchain is cited by 25% of federal and 17% of state agencies.
