Brazilian legal community celebrates institutional and academic milestones

Two significant legal publications have been announced in Brazil, celebrating institutional history and academic contributions to constitutional law.

The Procuradoria-Geral do Município do Recife (PGM) is launching the book ‘Entre a Constituição e a Cidade – 80 anos da Procuradoria do Recife’. Organized by Pedro Pontes, Bruno Cunha, and Gustavo Machado, the 600-page work features reflections from 36 jurists on topics such as public administration, governance, and fundamental rights. The collection includes contributions from figures such as former Minister of Justice José Eduardo Martins Cardozo, with a preface by Attorney General Jorge Messias.

In Curitiba, a new two-volume collection titled ‘Constituição, Democracia e Direitos Fundamentais – Estudos em Homenagem a Clèmerson Merlin Clève’ will be released. Organized by Bruno Meneses Lorenzetto, Octavio Campos Fischer, and Marcela Moraes Peixoto, the work honors jurist Clèmerson Merlin Clève. The articles cover diverse legal subjects, including freedom of expression, human rights, and the history of the Brazilian Judiciary.
