Brazilian legislatures approve new civil service plans, set stage for 2027 public exams

State deputies in Acre approved a new Plano de Cargos, Carreiras e Remuneração (PCCR) for the Assembly, aiming to correct historic salary disparities, modernise the institution and enable the first public service examination since the 1988 Constitution. The plan restructures career tracks, improves legal certainty, adds benefits for low‑paid and disabled staff and paves the way for the upcoming concurso.

The municipality of Altamira advanced its own PCCR revision, reviewing the general plan and specific sectors such as Education, Health and Public Safety. Working groups prepared career diagnostics to guide the legislation and to define the number of positions required for a public exam scheduled for 2027, following a decree that created a special commission to coordinate the recruitment process.
