Brazilian Military Police Expand Sergeant Training and Conduct Soldier Recruitment Exams
The Education Directorate of the Espírito Santo Military Police (PMES) held a pedagogical meeting on 2 July 2026 to coordinate the 2026 Sergeant Qualification Course (CHS 2026). The hybrid program will run for 869 hours, with classroom sessions at the former FAESA campus in Vitória and at the Police Academy in Cariacica. New curriculum elements include an increased Human Rights module, a Didactics course replacing a former facilitator training, and added subjects such as Strategic Planning, Artificial Intelligence in Public Service, and a lecture on police response to violence against women and girls.
In Piauí, the Military Police announced that its soldier selection exam will take place on 23 August 2026, offering 500 immediate vacancies and 500 reserve spots with an initial salary of R$ 4,896.84. The exam will consist of 40 multiple‑choice questions weighted toward specific and general knowledge, and a mandatory essay. Study‑plan recommendations emphasize focusing on the heavily weighted Police‑specific legislation and law subjects.
In Ceará, the Permanent Commission for Soldier and Lieutenant recruitment issued a heteroidentification summons for candidates in the ongoing soldier competition, scheduling the procedure for 7 July 2026 at the State Health Directorate in Farias Brito. The appointment follows a judicial determination and requires candidates to present identity documents, a self‑declaration of race, and a birth certificate.
