Brazilian municipal chambers approve new sports and health initiatives

The Municipal Chamber of Votuporanga has unanimously approved a project recognizing Airsoft as an official sports modality. Proposed by Councilman Sargento Marcos Moreno, the legislation establishes the Municipal Airsoft Week, to be held annually during the second week of December as part of the city's official event calendar.

The law defines Airsoft as an educational and healthy activity involving tactical simulations in controlled environments. It aims to promote physical and mental development, including coordination, discipline, and teamwork.

In Araraquara, the Municipal Chamber approved the inclusion of the ‘Julho Verde’ (Green July) campaign into the city's official calendar. Proposed by Councilman Enfermeiro Delmiran, the initiative focuses on the prevention of head and neck cancer.

The campaign seeks to increase awareness regarding risk factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and HPV, while encouraging early diagnosis through annual lectures and informative actions in schools and health units.
