Brazilian city councils present first‑semester legislative reports

In July, the president of a Brazilian municipal council, Davi de Almeida, highlighted the chamber’s digital protocol and voting system, online session broadcasts, and work on water sanitation, noting more than 70 proposals approved and 40 sessions held.

Campina Grande councilors were active: Saulo Noronha filed 13 bills in June covering health, education, safety and environmental issues, while council president Saulo Germano presented a total of 114 legislative initiatives—including 43 bills—aimed at improving public services, infrastructure and social programs.

In Cuiabá, councilwoman and chamber president Paula Calil reported 7,595 citizen indications, 21 draft laws of which 15 were enacted, addressing health, inclusion, mobility, culture and public safety, alongside numerous requests for municipal maintenance and infrastructure.

Councilors in Caçador demanded stricter oversight of road‑repair work linked to new sewer installations, filing an information request to obtain contracts, inspection reports and quality‑control procedures from the concessionaire and municipal authorities.
