Mayor Aurélio Goiano Faces Three Legislative Investigations in Parauapebas

The Municipal Chamber of Parauapebas published three official acts formalizing commissions to investigate mayor Aurélio Goiano. The inquiries address alleged religious racism during a June 2025 session honoring Evangelical Day, repeated failure to answer legislative requests, and the issuance of municipal decrees without official publication. The chamber voted 10‑6 in favor of opening the investigations, and the commissions were appointed as required by Decree‑Law No. 201/1967. The commission on the racism allegation is chaired by Maquivalda Aguiar Barros (PDT) with Erica Sousa da Silva Ribeiro as rapporteur and Leonardo da Silva Mendes as member. The other two commissions will be led by council members designated by the chamber president Anderson Marcos Moratorio.
