Brazilian municipal councils hold hearings on budget and accessibility

Municipal chambers in Brazil are hosting public hearings to discuss local legislative projects.

In Caraguatatuba, the City Council will hold sessions on August 26 and September 2 to debate Bill No. 93/26. This project establishes the Budgetary Guidelines Law (LDO) for the 2027 fiscal year. The hearings aim to allow citizens to review municipal budget priorities and submit suggestions for the upcoming financial planning.

In Londrina, the City Council has scheduled a hearing for August 24 to discuss Bill No. 160/2026. Proposed by Councilman Mestre Madureira, the legislation seeks to establish stricter rules for parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. The bill aims to improve mobility by requiring expanded lateral spaces for wheelchair access and ensuring accessible curb ramps near designated spots.
