Brazilian Municipal Councils Set Agendas for August Sessions

The Limeira City Council in São Paulo state will hold its ordinary session on Monday, 10 August 2026. Four proposals are on the agenda: a decree to award the city’s Diploma of Gratitude and Civic Merit Medal to Elizangela Cristina Meritan Portioli; a law establishing a permanent forum on innovation, science and technology; a health‑sector law setting guidelines for municipal latex‑allergy prevention and care; and a proposal to name a public square after Marisa Pereira Tomazini.

The Várzea Grande City Council in Mato Grosso will convene on Tuesday, 11 August 2026. Its agenda includes a complementary law to amend the municipal road‑planning code; a bill recognizing people with fibromyalgia as persons with special needs and granting free urban transport; a proposal to introduce animal‑rights education in schools; a repeal of a land‑parceling regulation; a measure to add empathy teaching to extracurricular activities; and a program for home‑based vaccination and exam collection for people with autism and other disabilities.
