Brazilian municipal oversight bodies challenge fiscal practices in Rondônia and Paraná

The Tribunal de Contas do Estado de Rondônia (TCE‑RO) dismissed a preliminary investigation that alleged the use of pension‑fund resources for training commissioned officials in the municipality of Ouro Preto do Oeste. The court ruled it lacks competence to intervene preventively in a bill still under legislative discussion and found no concrete financial act to suspend.

In the city of Apucarana, Paraná, a council session ended in a tied 5‑5 vote on whether to accept the 2024 accounts of former mayor Júnior. Councilor Guilherme Livoti voted to reject the accounts, citing technical irregularities and indicating he will forward his concerns to the judiciary for further investigation.
