Brazilian municipal security councils tackle noise, lighting and stray livestock issues

In Limeira, the municipal Public Security Commission reviewed demands submitted by local community security councils (Consegs). Residents complained about nighttime noise from bars and street parties, insufficient street lighting, overgrown vegetation and the enforcement of the "Lei Fecha Bar" curfew. Police officials noted a rise in related disturbances and linked crimes on weekends and called for increased police and municipal guard staffing. The commission resolved to request reports from the mayor’s office on recent infractions and to obtain data on public disturbance incidents.

In Arcos, the Community Security Council (CONSEP) met with civil‑defence officials and the fire brigade to address the problem of large livestock roaming public streets. The council highlighted the danger to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians and discussed measures such as notifying owners, issuing fines, seizing animals and using municipal facilities for temporary shelter.

Both meetings emphasized preventive actions and coordination with public agencies to improve safety for residents.
