Brazilian municipal employees trained in first aid and AED use

On 16 June, municipal council staff in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, took part in a first‑aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) training run by the mobile emergency service (SAMU) through its Emergency Education Unit. The program covered choking relief, CPR, recognition of cardiac arrest and stroke, and proper AED use.

A similar session was held on 18‑19 June at the City Hall of Campinas, São Paulo. Organized by the municipal fire brigade and the personnel‑management secretariat with SAMU instructors, the training focused on emergency cardiac care and AED operation for security personnel, fire‑brigade members and other municipal workers. Both events aimed to equip public‑sector employees with basic emergency response skills so they can act quickly in crises affecting colleagues or citizens.
