Brazilian municipalities advance sports accessibility upgrades and hiring diversity measures

The city of Franca announced a R$ 1.17 million public tender to contract works that will improve accessibility and modernize the Dr. Hélio Palermo Poliesportivo complex. Planned upgrades include tactile flooring, new ramps, upgraded entrances, refreshed courts, improved drainage, electrical updates and decorative cobogós, with the contract to be signed and work to begin within 36 months.

In Itabuna, the municipal Special Commission for the Simplified Selection Process 02/2026 called candidates who identified as Black or mixed‑race to attend a heteroidentification session on 11 June 2026. The process, held at the Luís Eduardo Magalhães Model School, aims to verify self‑declarations for reserved vacancies in accordance with local regulations.
