Brazilian municipalities announce holidays for city anniversaries
Several Brazilian municipalities will observe holidays in late September to celebrate local anniversaries and historical milestones.
In Resende, the city is celebrating its 225th anniversary. While Monday, September 28, is designated as an optional holiday for the City Hall, essential services such as health, urban cleaning, Civil Defense, and social assistance will remain operational. Emergency medical services, including the Henrique Sérgio Gregori Municipal Emergency Hospital and SAMU, will maintain 24-hour availability. Vaccination programs also have scheduled special hours during the period.
In the state of Minas Gerais, the cities of Campo Belo and Visconde do Rio Branco have confirmed Monday, September 28, as a municipal holiday. Campo Belo marks its 147th anniversary, while the holiday in Visconde do Rio Branco commemorates the city's political-administrative emancipation. Residents are advised that bank operations and commercial activities may be affected due to the local nature of these holidays.
