Brazilian municipalities boost public maintenance with new equipment

The Caraguatatuba city hall in São Paulo state purchased a 4×4 agricultural tractor and four zero‑kilometre grass‑cutting tractors, along with motorcycles, tricycles, cars and other vehicles, to improve street, green‑area and sports‑field upkeep and reduce rental costs. Mayor Mateus Silva and Public Services Secretary João Leme Alarcon said the new machinery will enhance efficiency and resource management for the municipality.

In Marília, São Paulo, the Municipal Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth carried out cleaning, mowing and painting of the Pedro Rojo Lozano Sola poly‑sports complex. Secretary Valéria Cavecci noted the work follows mayor Vinicius Camarinha’s directive to keep public sports facilities in good condition for athletes and residents, with maintenance continuing at other sites.

Both actions illustrate local governments in Brazil investing in infrastructure and maintenance to better serve their communities.
