Brazilian municipalities Divinópolis and Cambé rise in national competitiveness rankings

The 2026 Municipality Competitiveness Ranking, released by the Centro de Liderança Pública (CLP), highlights significant improvements for several Brazilian cities across various indicators including institutions, society, and economy.

Divinópolis rose 40 positions nationally to reach 106th place. The city saw substantial gains in the Institutions dimension, particularly in fiscal sustainability and public machine operation. Notably, Divinópolis ranked 4th nationally in access to health and 3rd in the Southeast region for public machine efficiency.

Cambé also showed marked progress, climbing 15 positions to become the 173rd most competitive municipality in Brazil and 20th in Paraná. The city achieved significant improvements in public safety, rising 47 positions due to reduced violent deaths and traffic accidents, and ranked 4th in Paraná for health services. Cambé also demonstrated a major leap in fiscal sustainability, rising 77 positions.
