Brazilian municipalities expand surveillance via integrated camera systems

Municipalities in Brazil are expanding their surveillance capabilities through new technology integrations. In Taubaté, the local government has implemented 50 new monitoring cameras at the Félix Guisard Sports Complex. These cameras are connected to the Integrated Management Center (CGI), providing 24-hour real-time monitoring. The system includes advanced features such as facial recognition, audio communication, and alarm systems. Beyond security, the technology will be used to monitor the physical maintenance of the complex, such as lighting and structural issues.

In Conselheiro Lafaiete, authorities are advancing the installation of a municipal video monitoring system integrated with public security and traffic departments. The initiative involves coordination between the Municipal Guard, the Civil Police, and traffic departments through the newly created Integrated Command and Monitoring Center (CICOM). The goal is to facilitate information sharing and real-time response to public service needs and traffic incidents, while also assisting in criminal investigations.
