João Pessoa extends 2026 municipal tax regularization deadline to July 31

The João Pessoa municipal tax regularization program (Refis 2026) has been extended to 31 July 2026. Taxpayers with outstanding municipal debts can negotiate settlements either in person at the Secretaria da Receita’s office in the Centro Administrativo Municipal (CAM) in the Água Fria district or online through the Portal do Contribuinte.

Cash‑paying contributors receive up to 90 % off interest and 80 % off fines, with an additional 5 % discount on fines for payments made via the online portal. Installment options allow up to seven payments, with discounts of 70 % on interest and 60 % on fines. A 25 % discount on the municipal property‑transfer tax (ITBI) applies to qualifying transactions completed by 10 July.

The program covers debts such as IPTU, waste‑collection fees (TCR), ISS for non‑Simples entities, Procon fines, construction and environmental penalties, and other municipal revenues, whether or not they are already in active debt registers. Excluded items include ISS for Simples‑National businesses, the public lighting contribution (Cosip), traffic fines, and debts incurred after 31 May 2026. Creditors must also settle any procedural costs for debts already under judicial execution or protest.
