Brazilian municipalities hold public hearings for 2027 budgets

Several Brazilian municipalities are conducting public hearings and consultations to establish their budgetary frameworks for the 2027 fiscal year.

In Barracão, the municipal government held a public hearing to present the Annual Budget Law (LOA) for 2027. Officials noted that while the process complies with the Federal Constitution and the Fiscal Responsibility Law, community participation in budget discussions remains low.

Caraguatatuba has initiated a series of public hearings to discuss the Budgetary Guidelines Law (LDO) for 2027. These sessions aim to allow residents to contribute suggestions and clarify doubts regarding municipal priorities and resource allocation.

In Ilhabela, the administration concluded a cycle of public hearings and online consultations for the 2027 LOA. Mayor Toninho Colucci stated that the collected suggestions from various regions will be analyzed to ensure the budget aligns with the actual needs of the population regarding health, education, and urban services.
