Brazilian municipalities implement new mobility and administrative rules

The City of Atibaia, through its Secretariat of Mobility and Urban Planning, has issued new guidelines regarding the correct use of sidewalks and cycle paths. The initiative aims to organize the flow of pedestrians and vehicles to prevent collisions, particularly on high-traffic routes like the Avenida Jerônimo de Camargo cycle path.

Authorities clarified that while self-propelled individual mobility equipment and electric bicycles have specific regulations, motorcycles, mopeds, and tricycles are prohibited from using cycle paths and must remain on the roadway. Under the Brazilian Traffic Code, driving on sidewalks or cycle paths is considered a very serious infraction subject to heavy fines.

In Augustinópolis, the municipal government has announced a temporary change to administrative working hours. Starting September 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, administrative sectors will operate on a continuous schedule from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This change applies to departments such as Human Resources, Finance, and Planning, but does not affect essential services like health, education, public cleaning, or security, which will maintain their regular schedules and shifts.
