Brazilian municipalities implement new public service policies

Municipal governments in Brazil are implementing new administrative policies to improve public services. In Castro, the City Hall is restructuring the Patient Safety Nucleus (NSP) at the 24-hour Emergency Care Unit (UPA). This initiative involves a multidisciplinary team focused on risk prevention, incident investigation, and the standardization of medical protocols. To support this, approximately 40 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, underwent training in partnership with Senac to enhance the quality and humanization of care.

In Sorocaba, the administration has established a Municipal Intelligent Communication Policy to make official information more accessible. Through the Intelligent Communication Laboratory (Labcom), the city is utilizing simple language, reducing technical jargon, and providing staff with resources such as a Simple Language Handbook and a technical dictionary. Early results indicate a significant increase in positive public feedback regarding the clarity of the city's digital communications.
