Brazilian municipalities initiate new 10-year Municipal Education Plans
Municipalities in Brazil have begun processes to develop new Municipal Education Plans (PME) to guide educational policies for the next decade.
In Campo Grande, the city government has initiated a new structuring phase involving the formation of a Management Commission, a Technical Commission, and 14 thematic working groups. The next stage will focus on producing an educational diagnosis based on official data and indicators to establish practical goals and actions. Officials emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring to ensure the long-term success of the ten-year plan.
In Mogi das Cruzes, the Secretariat of Education has launched a training cycle to facilitate the collective construction of its new PME. The initiative includes lectures on the National Education System and special education policies. This proactive approach aims to meet the federal deadline of July 14, 2027, for the publication of municipal plans following the approval of the new National Education Plan.
