Brazilian municipalities launch early childhood support initiatives

Municipalities in Brazil have launched initiatives focused on early childhood development and maternal health through the Agosto Verde and Agosto Dourado campaigns.

The program included a walk featuring bicycles and scooters, cultural performances, and intersectoral service tents covering health, education, and social assistance. The event aimed to integrate the community and emphasize the importance of care during a child's first years.

In Marituba, the administration held a special action targeting pregnant women and children aged 0 to 6. The initiative provided various services, including social assistance through the Cadastro Único and Bolsa Família programs, as well as the distribution of layette kits for pregnant women. The program integrated multiple municipal secretariats, including health, education, and sports, to provide comprehensive support for families.
