Brazilian municipalities launch online enrollment for Education of Youth and Adults

The municipality of São Gonçalo continues to accept pre‑registrations for the Education of Youth and Adults (EJA) program for the second semester of 2026, offering the course in 19 municipal schools. Applicants must submit a birth or marriage certificate, identity card, proof of residence, two photos, and a school record or declaration; minors also need legal‑guardian documents. EJA students receive free education, school meals and, where applicable, a transport pass for distances over two kilometres and family income below three minimum wages.

In Florianópolis, the municipal government has introduced an online portal that allows year‑round enrollment in EJA. The system is open to anyone aged 15 or older and covers 30 locations across the city’s North, Central, Continental and South regions. As of the latest count, 835 students are enrolled – 169 in literacy classes and 666 in the later segment – and they also benefit from free meals and eligible transport passes.
