Brazil municipalities launch widespread vaccination campaigns
Various municipalities across Brazil are conducting extensive vaccination campaigns to combat zoonotic diseases and update public immunization records.
In several regions, major rabies vaccination drives for dogs and cats are underway. Itabira has already surpassed its goal of 10,000 immunizations and is holding follow-up sessions in areas with lower coverage. Niterói is launching a campaign across 66 posts, while Primavera do Leste is holding a ‘Dia D’ to reach pet owners. Manaus is offering rabies vaccinations through fixed posts, partner clinics, and home visits, with the campaign running through November.
Other health initiatives focus on human immunization. The Distrito Federal is providing access to vaccines for dengue, influenza, measles, tetanus, and yellow fever across 48 locations. In Dourados, authorities have expanded Saturday hours for Chikungunya and yellow fever vaccinations to assist workers. Additionally, Castro is hosting a ‘Sabadão da Vacina’ to provide doses of influenza, yellow fever, HPV, and triple viral vaccines to the local population.
