Brazilian municipalities open new sports fields and early‑childhood centers

The municipality of Caraguatatuba in São Paulo state inaugurated a renovated 1,920 m² synthetic soccer field, "Antonio Pereira da Silva (Jota)," in the Rio do Ouro neighbourhood on 23 May. The project, costing R$618,138, was funded with R$200,000 from a parliamentary amendment and the remainder from the municipal treasury, and includes new fencing, outdoor gym equipment and a bicycle rack.

In Ceará, Governor Elmano de Freitas presided over the opening of an arena and a Centre for Early Childhood Education in São João do Jaguaribe on 27 May. The combined investment of about R$2.48 million adds the state’s 333rd arena and the 81st early‑childhood centre, which can serve up to 208 children aged 0‑5. Both facilities aim to improve sports participation and early education for local residents.
