Paracambi and Itapoã inaugurate new or upgraded basic health units
The Federal District government announced that a new Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) will open in the Itapoã Parque housing complex on 20 July. The clinic is part of Governor Celina Leão’s investment package aimed at bringing health, education, leisure and mobility services closer to fast‑growing residents.
In the municipality of Paracambi, the UBS in the Lages neighbourhood was reinaugurated on 27 July after a total renovation. The upgraded facility now operates as a policlinic offering more than 20 medical specialties, including neurology and urology, and provides telemedicine, extended hours until 21:00, services for atypical and neuro‑divergent children, and a DNA‑HPV screening programme for cervical‑cancer prevention. The ceremony was attended by Mayor Andrezinho Ceciliano, former mayor André Ceciliano, health secretary Monique Pimentel and local officials.
Mayor Enivaldo dos Anjos also inaugurated a new health unit in the Irmãos Fernandes neighbourhood, accompanied by Ricardo Ferraço and Casagrande, further expanding basic health coverage in the region.
