Brazilian municipalities roll out new bus fleets in Paranaguá and Salvador

The city of Paranaguá, Brazil, officially received 40 new buses on 28 April, replacing more than 80% of its existing fleet. The vehicles feature air‑conditioning, free Wi‑Fi, USB chargers, air suspension, electric doors, elevators for passengers with reduced mobility and integrated cameras linked to the municipal digital monitoring system. Mayor Adriano Ramos called the delivery historic and confirmed that free public transport will continue despite dropping the "zero tariff" label.

In Salvador, Brazil, Mayor Bruno Reis announced that 700 new air‑conditioned buses will be delivered by the end of the year as part of the "Salvador + Segura" project. Some of the buses have already arrived and are being plated, with a further shipment en route. A complementary‑vehicle tender has also been launched, and the existing transport subsidy has been approved for payment. Reis said this will be the largest bus procurement in the city’s history.
