Brazilian municipalities stage concerts at Cavalgada festivals
The city of Cassilândia in Mato Grosso do Sul will extend its traditional Cavalgada celebrations on 26 July with a live performance by regional sertanejo singer Karol Mai. The concert is scheduled for Praça São José immediately after the horse‑riding parade and is expected to draw hundreds of residents and visitors, promoting local culture, tourism and the municipal economy.
In São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo state, the first "Cavalgada against femicide" will feature pop‑country artist Sofia Brasil performing at the Rancho do Comanche on the same day. Backed by the municipal government, the event aims to raise awareness about gender‑based violence while offering a musical platform for empowerment. The two shows illustrate how Brazilian local authorities are using Cavalgada festivals to combine cultural heritage with contemporary social messages.
