Brazilian music classics experience streaming resurgence via social media

Social media trends are revitalizing classic Brazilian musical works, driving significant growth in streaming numbers for older tracks. Recent reinterpretations have introduced legacy songs to new audiences through contemporary formats.

A new version of the Titãs classic “Bichos Escrotos,” performed by CO. LABS and Anitta, led to a 44% increase in streams and a 134% rise in saves for the original recording on Spotify in Brazil.

Similarly, the song “Lavar as Mãos,” associated with Arnaldo Antunes and the children's program Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum, saw a resurgence after being reinterpreted by the a cappella group Coral das Quebradas. This version contributed to a 20% increase in streams and a 49% increase in saves for the original track during the analyzed period.
