Brazilian Navy opens recruitment for Voluntary Military Service

The Brazilian Navy is conducting its annual selection process for the Voluntary Military Service (SMV), which offers temporary positions for up to eight years. The program includes both Officer and Enlisted (Praças) roles, managed across nine Naval Districts.

Specifically, the 1st Naval District Command in Rio de Janeiro has opened a selection process for 25 immediate vacancies for 3rd Class Officers. These roles cover specialized fields including Science and Technology (such as Computer, Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering), Medicine (including specialties like Hematology, Oncology, and Cardiology), and Teaching (requiring doctorates in specific engineering or pedagogical fields).

Candidates for Officer positions must have a higher education degree and be between 18 and 62 years old. The selection process involves a multiple-choice objective exam in Portuguese and a subsequent evaluation of titles and professional experience. For Enlisted roles, requirements vary by function and may include secondary or fundamental education.
