Brazilian organizations address political polarization and institutional neutrality
The Business Association of Concórdia (ACIC) has issued an official statement expressing concern regarding lists that attempt to link specific companies and professionals to particular political or ideological positions. The entity warned that such classifications could damage the reputations of establishments, disrupt commercial relationships, and negatively impact entrepreneurs, employees, and suppliers.
ACIC emphasized that businesses are composed of diverse individuals—including partners, employees, and clients—who may hold differing opinions. The association cautioned that political divergences could be used to mask commercial interests or unfairly target competitors, arguing that business competition should remain focused on product quality, service, and efficiency.
Separately, the Via Folia Association released a clarification following political statements made by its former president. The organization stated that the remarks were strictly personal and do not reflect the official values or opinions of the association. Via Folia reaffirmed its commitment to democracy, freedom of expression, and the plurality of ideas, noting that diversity and inclusion are essential to the essence of Carnival.
