Brazilian parks introduce new night hiking and camping experiences
Several Brazilian state parks are expanding their ecotourism offerings through new guided night activities and specialized hiking routes.
In São Paulo, Parque Caminhos do Mar is introducing a new combo starting August 22 that pairs a monthly guided night hike in the Atlantic Forest with overnight camping. The package includes a discounted rate for a designated camping bay, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Serra do Mar environment. Participants must provide their own tents and equipment.
In Paraná, Parque Estadual de Vila Velha is offering a dual experience featuring both daytime and nighttime excursions. The program includes the Trilha da Fortaleza, an 11-kilometer trek through restricted areas, and a guided night walk through the Arenitos trail. The nighttime activity features astronomical observation with telescopes, led by specialists to explain celestial bodies under the moonlight.
