Brazilian police clash with armed suspects in Coaraci and Guiratinga
In Coaraci, Bahia, a police operation by the 15th Military Police Battalion and tactical units ended with two suspected drug traffickers dead after a gunfight. Officers seized a submachine gun, pistols, a revolver, ammunition, and several kilograms of marijuana, cocaine and crack.
In Guiratinga, Mato Grosso, a 49‑year‑old father wrestled an armed intruder who had broken into his home to settle a drug‑related debt owed by his 23‑year‑old son. The assailant fired shots at the floor and a nearby vehicle before fleeing on a motorcycle. Police later conducted patrols but did not locate the suspect.
