Law enforcement agencies in Brazil have reported several distinct incidents involving animals. In Tocantins, the Civil Police recovered 18 stolen cattle following an investigation into a theft that occurred in Araguacema. The animals were located at a rural property in Itaporã. One suspect was taken into custody, and authorities are continuing efforts to locate the remaining four stolen animals and other potential participants.
In Alagoas, police executed a preventive arrest warrant for a man suspected of mistreating a cat known as Camila Regina. After failing to locate the suspect in Maceió, investigators tracked him to the Sertão region, where he was apprehended. He remains in custody to face charges related to animal cruelty.
Additionally, the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Environmental Crimes and Agrarian Conflicts in Tocantins identified a suspect in a separate animal mistreatment case. The investigation, aided by security camera footage, is ongoing as authorities work to gather evidence for the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
