Brazilian police investigate fetal remains found in sewage plant and glass jar

On Friday morning, a male fetal remains estimated at four months gestation was discovered in the filtration system of a sewage treatment plant in the Jardim Carvalho neighborhood of Ponta Grossa, Paraná. A plant employee reported it, prompting the Military Police and Scientific Police to isolate the area and begin forensic collection. The Civil Police are leading the investigation; cause and responsible parties remain unknown pending autopsy.

A few days earlier, a container resembling a fetal body was found in a glass jar on a vacant lot in the Aleixo district of Manaus, Amazonas. Passersby alerted the Military Police, whose community unit secured the site until forensic experts could examine the material to determine whether it was human or animal. The investigation is ongoing, with no identified suspect.
