Brazil police seize hundreds of kilograms of drugs and arrest dozens in coordinated busts
Police forces across several Brazilian states carried out a series of drug busts on June 17‑18, 2026. In Capelinha (Minas Gerais), an 18‑year‑old was arrested with 91 small packets of cocaine and illegal ammunition. In Guarujá (São Paulo), officers seized 500 g of crack, 760 g of marijuana, 152 g of cocaine, 500 ml of lança‑perfume, 25 g of ecstasy and a radio, arresting the dealer.
In Cáceres (Mato Grosso), a 22‑year‑old and a 17‑year‑old linked to a criminal faction were caught with a 9 mm pistol, coca‑base paste and cannabis. The Federal Highway Police intercepted 303.5 kg of marijuana in a truck near Itirapina (São Paulo) and 146.5 kg of marijuana on BR‑262 near Córrego Danta (Minas Gerais), detaining the drivers.
Additional seizures included 78 drug portions in Tangará da Serra (Mato Grosso), 332 kg of marijuana hidden on a rural property in Gravataí (Rio Grande do Sul), and a 15‑year‑old caught with a loaded 9 mm pistol after a murder in Mirassol d’Oeste (Mato Grosso). Altogether, the operations resulted in the confiscation of large quantities of cocaine, marijuana, crack, ecstasy and other substances, the arrest of multiple suspects, and the seizure of firearms and cash.
