Brazilian police seize motorcycles with tampered identification
Police in Brazil have conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of motorcycles with tampered identification numbers.
In São Bento do Una, Pernambuco, the Military Police intercepted a black motorcycle without a license plate. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the engine numbering had been suppressed and the chassis showed signs of tampering. Additionally, police seized an automotive tire and three exhaust components found in a bag carried by the suspects. The individuals involved were taken to a police station for legal proceedings.
In Bahia, officers from the Itabuna Highway Police intercepted a red Honda CG Titan on the BA-650. After a high-speed chase where one suspect attempted to flee via a rural road, police apprehended a driver. The motorcycle featured a counterfeit Mercosul-style plate made of stickers, and both the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and engine number were unidentifiable. Authorities seized the vehicle, cash, and personal documents, arresting the individual under Article 311 of the Penal Code.
