Brazilian police seize submachine gun and ammunition from two teens in Cáceres

On the morning of 3 July, the 6th Regional Command of the Military Police in Cáceres, Mato Grosso, arrested two adolescents suspected of illegal firearm possession. Officers recovered a 9 mm submachine gun, a .38 caliber revolver, 29 rounds of ammunition, portions of marijuana and two balaclavas.

The suspects, a 17‑year‑old with an open warrant for a homicide‑related offense and a 15‑year‑old with no prior record, were believed to be members of a criminal faction planning a homicide in the municipality. After attempting to flee the residence in the Vila Real neighbourhood, they were apprehended and taken to the police station for processing.
