Brazilian political figures address regional development and disaster relief
In Mato Grosso do Sul, former governor and Senate candidate Reinaldo Azambuja attended the Sobá Festival in Campo Grande. During the event, Azambuja advocated for the revitalization of the Feira Central, stating that funds for the reconstruction of the space have been maintained by current governor Eduardo Riedel. He noted that while progress has faced obstacles, particularly with the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan), the goal remains to create a new concept for the market.
In Paraná, Senator Sergio Moro visited the municipality of Piraí do Sul to assess the damage caused by a tornado that struck the region on Saturday. The tornado primarily impacted rural areas, destroying homes, sheds, and agricultural structures, though no fatalities were reported. Moro announced plans to organize donation campaigns and seek parliamentary amendments to assist affected families and the local government in the recovery process.
