Brazilian political leaders address legislative cooperation and institutional defense

In Mato Grosso, Max Russi, president of the Legislative Assembly, expressed a willingness to partner with Governor-elect Otaviano Pivetta. Russi praised the appointment of Eduardo Manciolli to lead the State Civil House, noting that Manciolli’s experience in the Assembly could facilitate dialogue between the Executive, legislators, and municipal leaders.

Russi also highlighted the growth of the Podemos party, which has expanded its political representation and presence in 42 municipalities. He stated that the party’s increased influence brings greater responsibility to deliver concrete results for the state's municipalities.

In Rio de Janeiro, Governor-elect Douglas Ruas delivered his first speech at the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj). Ruas criticized recent attacks on the institution's image, urging deputies to defend the Assembly against comparisons to criminal organizations. His remarks follow a period of political turbulence and judicial disputes within the legislative body.
