Brazil political parties project 2026 election outcomes

Political leaders and parties in Brazil are outlining strategies and projections for the 2026 elections.

Alberto Cantalice, a director at the Perseu Abramo Foundation and Workers' Party (PT) official, projects that the PT could elect 100 federal deputies in 2026. This would surpass the party's previous record of 92 seats set in 2002. Cantalice expects the coalition supporting President Lula to secure at least 200 seats across seven parties, including the PT, PDT, PSB, PV, PCdoB, Rede, and PSOL.

In Maranhão, analysis of the PSD party suggests the group may elect four state deputies to the Legislative Assembly. Projections indicate the party could reach approximately 350,000 votes, aided by key candidates and party votes.

In Rio de Janeiro, political figures are consolidating alliances. Dr. Henrique Paes, running for state deputy under the PSDB, is participating in a major meeting in Nova Iguaçu to strengthen ties with leaders such as Eduardo Paes and Daniel Soranz.
