Brazilian politicians face election‑interference accusations over police use and early vote‑seeking

Deputy Zé Medeiros (PL) alleged that the Workers' Party (PT) is using the Federal Police to target Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL‑RJ) ahead of the presidential election, citing a possible Interpol request to trace funds linked to the film *Dark Horse*. Medeiros described the police action as a “political police” aimed at weakening the right‑wing candidacy.

In a separate complaint, Deputy Sanderson (PL‑RS) filed a petition with the Prosecutor General's Office (PGR) accusing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) of soliciting votes for himself and his allies during the PT's Bahia convention, before the legally permitted campaign period. The complaint claims the president’s statements constitute premature electoral propaganda and requests an investigation into possible violations of election rules.
