Lulinha faces multiple federal investigations and data‑leak claims
Brazil’s Federal Police have opened a third inquiry into Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, alleging influence‑trafficking linked to contracts with the data‑security firm 3Structure and the state‑run Dataprev. The probe follows earlier investigations into alleged pension‑fund misappropriations (Operation Sem Desconto) and a separate inquiry into cannabis‑medicinal licensing.
Lulinha’s defence has asked the Ministry of Justice and the Federal Police’s internal affairs unit to investigate repeated leaks of confidential data obtained during the investigations. The defence claims the leaked information was passed to the campaign of presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro for political use. Records also show that lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger, a close associate of Lulinha, held dozens of unregistered meetings with senior ministers, including Wellington Dias, raising further concerns about procedural transparency.
Lulinha, who currently resides in Madrid, has said he will return to Brazil if formally summoned by authorities and will cooperate with the investigations. His lawyers describe the new probe as a “fishing expedition” and stress his client’s willingness to comply with the law.
