Brazilian prison facilities face corruption, smuggling, and health issues
In Minas Gerais, a prison security director at the Dênio Moreira de Carvalho Penitentiary in Ipaba has been preventively removed from his duties. Additionally, health officials in Rio Branco reported that at least 52 inmates at the FOC prison are currently receiving medical treatment for tuberculosis. A joint health action by the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Acre Penitentiary Administration provided medical consultations, nursing care, and medication to ensure treatment continuity.
