Brazilian prosecutor Giulian Salvador de Lima Regis stabbed; suspect Gabriel Conceição Costa arrested in Cotia

Gabriel Conceição Costa, a 20‑year‑old man, was arrested on 31 May in an apartment in the Parque Rincão area of Cotia, Brazil. He is the primary suspect in the attempted homicide of Giulian Salvador de Lima Regis, a 30‑year‑old municipal prosecutor for São Paulo who was stabbed in May inside his father’s home in the same neighbourhood. Police from the Cotia Police Station, linked to the Carapicuíba Section, executed temporary arrest and search warrants, seized the suspect’s mobile phone and took him into custody without incident. Costa remains detained pending further judicial proceedings. The investigation noted that the victim and suspect had been in a cohabiting relationship for about three months and that the attack involved multiple knife wounds, leading the victim to be taken to a local health unit for treatment.
